Saxophonist/flutist/clarinetist and composer/arranger Robbie Jordan's story begins in Boise, Idaho. He studied classical clarinet with James Hopper at Boise State University and later joined him in the clarinet section of the Boise Philharmonic. Robbie also studied jazz theory with jazz bassist Gary Peacock in Seattle.

In 1976, David Lanz encouraged him to relocate to Seattle and play in Lanz's band. This turning point in Jordan's career opened the diverse world of concert touring and recording experiences. He performed and/or recorded with notable Windham Hill recording artists Scott Cossu, Michael Hedges, Michael Manring, Van Manakas, Liz Story, Alex Degrasis and Scott Vomvolakis. Jordan has also recorded and performed with Paul Speer and David Lanz, legendary New-Age artists.

Lately, Robbie has recorded and/or performed with the legendary Dr. John, Greg Adams (a founding member of Tower of Power), Little Anthony & The Imperials, Terry Townson (grammy winner with Delbert McClinton), Lloyd Jones Struggle, and Zen Blues (Steve Ferrone, Mike Finnigan, John March & Tim Scott). Robbie was also grateful to be part of a show recorded live at Jazz Alley in Seattle – which was a concert that benefited Habitat for Humanity (for the victims of Hurricane Katrina).  Jeremy Ryan assembled a cast of some of N’AWLINS finest musicians, which included Dr. John’s Lower 911 rhythm section and Harry Connick Jr.’s featured soloists (Leroy Jones and Craig Klein). Robbie and Terry Townson have also recently begun working together as a team, forming the JoTown horns.

Over the years, Robbie has been a performing artist/clinician for Selmer & Jupiter Instrument Companies. He has given hundreds of workshops, master classes and concerts at festivals and schools. He is a member of the Jazz Education Network (JEN) and the Seattle Musicians Union. He is currently the artistic director of the Puget Sound Youth Jazz group.

Robbie's talents as an arranger/composer and session player have been used with several notable artists, soundtracks and film work. Jordan is an adaptable artist who is equally at ease in pop-jazz, fusion, and straight-ahead settings. He plays with the Seattle Music Company, composed of members from the Seattle Symphony and other leading studio artists. The Seattle Music Company is in demand in the film and recording industry.

Jordan had the opportunity to perform with jazz greats such as Dave Valentin, Allen Vizzutti, Julian Priester, Carter Jefferson, Jim Knapp's Seattle Composers and Improvisers Orchestra and Gary Peacock. He has also played with notable rock/r&b artists including: Bo Diddley, Johnny Rivers, Buddy Miles, Mark Lindsay (Paul Revere & The Raiders) and Rich Dangel and the Reputations, and Merilee Rush.
